The MD of Bonnyville is bringing back its popular Shelterbelt Tree Program again this year. Residents can buy trees from the MD at a discount, which is meant to replace the long running Prairie Shelterbelt program that was cancelled by the federal government in 2013.
Last year was a record year, with nearly 10,000 trees sold. After the initial 7,000 sold out, another three were ordered.
This year’s orders will be taken starting at 8 a.m. on February 1st, first come first served. A list of the available trees will be up on the MD’s website.
