Municipal District of Bonnyville residents can now register for their Ardmore Landfill Account.
According to the M.D’s rural review, residents will be required to have an account to access the Ardmore Landfill for numerous reasons, with an emphasis on accountability.
“Accountability on the users to help ensure they understand their requirements, but also accountability on our part to help ensure we are handling waste and recycling generated in the M.D. of Bonnyville,” M.D. Bonnyville says.
As residents bring forward financial concerns, Bonnyville says it is important the landfill and transfer station service provided to ratepayers remains low-cost.
The M.D. says there are no fees to register an account and residents are encouraged to register for a waste utility account to provide access to the Ardmore Landfill. Upon registration, residents will receive either a proximity card or a smartphone app access account, and the M.D. says either option will work at the landfill’s access gates.
According to the report, the project will be tested from late August to September, with a projected start date for the changes of Tuesday, October 3.
