Bonnyville RCMP arrest parolee after Canada-wide warrant issued

The Bonnyville RCMP have arrested 31-year-old Craig Alook, a federal parolee, after a Canada-wide warrant was issued for violating his parole conditions.

Alook, who had been serving time for previous offenses, was released on parole but soon re-offended, prompting authorities to issue the nationwide warrant.

On October 10, the RCMP received information indicating that Alook was believed to be hiding at a residence in Kehewin. Acting on the tip, several Bonnyville RCMP officers arrived at the location. Upon seeing the officers, Alook attempted to flee the scene, “Alook attempted to flee with a knife and a pipe in his hands,” the RCMP stated.

Following a brief foot chase, officers used less-lethal force to subdue him. Alook was taken into custody without any injuries to himself or the officers.

Alook has since been returned to jail to serve the remainder of his statutory sentence.
