Two men charged after youth bear sprayed in St. Paul

Two men are facing multiple charges following an assault involving bear spray on October 8. The RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon after four youth were allegedly bear sprayed in their vehicle in St. Paul.  

According to RCMP, the youth were being followed in their vehicle before the incident occurred. Following the report, police quickly arrested and charged two individuals in connection with the assault.  

Tyler Roy Desjarlais, 22, was charged with four counts of assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Leland Mitchell Jarvis, 18, faces charges of four counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  

Both Desjarlais and Jarvis were held for a judicial hearing and later released with conditions. They are scheduled to appear in St. Paul Court of Justice on October 31.  

RCMP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
