4 Wing Cold Lake is set to conduct emergency response exercise on November 18

On Monday, November 18, 4 Wing Cold Lake is set to hold an Emergency Response exercise in the Bark Park and Archery Range areas on base.

The exercise, which will run throughout the day, simulates an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) emergency and involves a safety barrier around the designated area.

The scenario is strictly for training purposes, and the simulated explosive device is not armed or dangerous. Key participants in the exercise include Fire Chief, Health Services, and Military Police, all collaborating to enhance readiness in the event of a real-life situation.

During the exercise, the public may experience higher than normal activity and noise levels in certain areas, and potential access interruptions to 4 Wing services.

“4 Wing is always mindful of the Lakeland community, and this type of training is not intended to disrupt your valuable time,” read the public service announcement. “This is an essential training requirement for our members and the community to be prepared in the case of a real-life situation.”

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the 4 Wing Public Affairs Office directly for more information.
