On the afternoon of December 10th, Bonnyville RCMP were called to a residence in Kehewin around 3:30 p.m. following a report that a man had used bear spray against other occupants in the home.
Before the officers arrived on scene, the suspect had fled in a vehicle. He was located shortly afterward and taken into custody. During a search, RCMP found the suspect in possession of methamphetamine. It was also determined that he was under court-ordered conditions related to unrelated charges.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Niton Saulteaux of Kehewin, now faces several charges, including assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, and two counts of breaching release conditions.
Saulteaux has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 19.
