St. Paul RCMP encourages community involvement in crime prevention

St. Paul RCMP is encouraging community members to help build safer and more connected neighbourhoods in 2025 by joining the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association (ACCPA).

Established in 1989, ACCPA played a vital role in connecting rural and urban communities, law enforcement, and agencies to promote crime prevention education and awareness across Alberta.

To ensure safety throughout active community engagement, ACCPA allows residents to work together and take an active role in crime prevention and well-being. While policing is an essential part of public safety, law enforcement alone cannot address the complex challenges communities face. Organizations like ACCPA encourage citizen involvement, provide valuable resources, and build partnerships that lead to meaningful change.

By joining ACCPA, members gain access to discounts on conferences, speaker series, and resources, along with opportunities to participate in local crime prevention initiatives and ear voting rights within the organization.

“Everything begins in our communities,” says Jean Bota, Executive Director of ACCPA. “When strong, engaged citizen-led groups work alongside law enforcement, we harness tremendous citizen power to create-meaningful change.”
