A man was injured in a shooting on Waterhen Lake First Nation on February 8, leading to the arrest of two men who now face multiple charges.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at a home on Waterhen Lake First Nation. The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries, but there has been no update on his condition.
Following an investigation, officers from Meadow Lake RCMP, along with Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services, arrested two 42-year-old men later that same day without incident.
Logan Lapratt and Derek Lasas, both residents of Waterhen Lake First Nation have been charged with multiple offences. Lapratt was charged with one count of attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm with intent. Lasas has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Both men appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on February 10.
