RCMP arrest two in Bonnyville after stolen truck leads to pursuit

On February 11, at 11:00 a.m., the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (EAD CRU) arrested a woman wanted on a warrant at a trailer park in the 5500 block of 55 Street in Bonnyville.

During the investigation, RCMP discovered a stolen truck from Edmonton at the scene. The vehicle was driven away by a male suspect, leading EAD CRU, EAD Police Dog Services, Bonnyville GIS, and Bonnyville General Duty members to respond. The male suspect was taken into custody without further incident. When searching the suspect, RCMP found methamphetamine, a knife, a baton, and an airsoft pistol.

The suspect identified as 27-year-old Logan Winegarden of Cold Lake, has been charged with driving while prohibited, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a stolen truck over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and nine counts of failing to comply with a release order condition.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace for a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody. His first court appearance is scheduled for February 14 at Bonnyville Provincial Court.
