A firearms complaint in Saddle Lake led to the arrests and recovery of three stolen weapons, two of which had been modified into prohibited firearms.
On March 22, Saddle Lake RCMP responded to reports of a man discharging a firearm and walking around with the weapon. Officers arrived on scene adn arrested a male holding a stolen weapon.
This initial arrest led investigators to get a search warrant for a residence in Saddle lake, where two more suspects were arrested, and another stolen firearm was found. A second search warrant was then executed at another residence, resulting in a fourth arrest and recovery of a third stolen firearm.
Four men are facing multiple firearm-related charges.
Rodney Riel Gladue, 43-year-old Saddle lake resident, has been charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, two counts of weapons possession contrary to order, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crimes less than $5,000.
Caleb Peter Shirt, a 39-year-old resident of Saddle Lake, has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, three counts of weapons possession contrary to order, and unsafe storage of firearms.
45-year-old Lyle Alexander Gladue and 28-year-old Garrett John Gladue both residents of Saddle Lake, have been jointly charged with, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with tampered serial number. Possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal $5,000, weapons possession for trafficking, and fail to comply with release order condition.
All four suspects were held for a judicial hearing. Rodney Gladue, Caleb Shirt and Garrett Gladue were remanded into custody and is set to appear in St. Paul Court of Justice on March 27th.
Lyle Gladue was released on conditions and is set to appear in the St. Paul Court of Justice on April 17.
